John Ballard was baptized on 17 March 1708 at Suckley, Worcestershire, , England.1 He was the son of John Ballard.1 John Ballard held property at The Lower Court, Suckley, Worcestershire, , England, between 1742 and 1753 as evidenced by Heigham wrote in 1705 to his cousin Thomas Coke at the Exchequer Office asking him to use his interest to prevent his being made Sheriff of Worcestershire. (fn. 63) He died in 1719, (fn. 64) when his son D'Ewes succeeded. (fn. 65) D'Ewes was in possession of the manor called Le Lower Court and Le White House in 1721, (fn. 66) and sold the former in 1742 to John Ballard and the latter in the same year to John Freeman. (fn. 67) The White House belonged to the Freemans until 1795 or later. (fn. 68) It was purchased about 1856 by Mr. Twinberrow, grandfather of Mr. James Frederick Twinberrow, who is the present owner. (fn. 69) The Lower Court estate passed on the death of John Ballard in 1753 to his son John, who sold it in 1813 to Joseph Walker. Of him it was purchased in 1831 by John Dowding
