In 1553 Ballard lost his pension and in lieu of that pension was made Dean of Worcester and held office until 1557; in which year he was superceded by one more acceptable to Queen Mary I. in 1536. He held the office of Abbot of Evesham between 1541 and 1553 at Evesham Abbey, Evesham, Worcestershire, , England. He held the office of Dean of Worcester between 1553 and 1557 at Worcester Cathedral, Worcester, Worcestershire, , England.
