Served in Malta 10th June 1885 to 8th January 1886 then India 9th January 1886 to 10th January 1892 returning to serve at home until 3rd January 1900. He returned oversea, South Africa, fromm 4th January 1900 to 20th September 1901 and served in the UK from 21st September 1901 to 22nd October 1901.

Received the India Medal with Burma Clasp 1887, 1889 & Clasps for 89 and 92. He received the South Africa Medal 1899-1900.⁴ He ended military service on 22 October 1901.⁴ He began military service on 6 August 1914 at Winchester, Hampshire, , England, Enlisted in the 4th Hampshire Regiment, regiment number 2448, as a Private. He returned to the UK 1/8/1915. Whilst aboard H.M.
