This is the last will and testament of William Ballard 38 Easton Street Spa Fields in the county of Middlesex watchmaker that I leave and bequeath after my funeral expenses and my just debts are paid all my property money goods plate and chattels money in the bank freehold and leasehold houses to my wife Sarah Ballard. I do appoint my wife Sarah Ballard my sole executrix <sign> 8^th May 1828 – William Ballard – Henry Knight – John Rowley – James May -- witnesses

Proved at London 7^th November 1838 before the worshipful John Drury Harding Doctor of laws and surrogate by the oath of Sarah Ballard widow the relict and the sole executrix to whom administration was granted having been first sworn duly to administer.
