In the name of God Amen. I
Thomas Ballard of Wandsworth in the county of Surrey being in good health and
memory yet finding some <alteration> in my body do make and ordain this my
last will and testament in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul
unto Almighty God trusting to have forgiveness of all my sins for the only
merits of my Saviour Christ and my body to be buried in the church or churchyard
of Wandsworth at the discretion of my executor. And for my moneable goods
firstly I give and bequeath unto Ellinor my loving wife
all that my lease of <D???ne> Limes in Wandsworth
for the whole term of years therein contained if she live so long. And if she
happen to die before the end of the said term of years then I give and bequeath
the remainder of the said term unto my son Thomas
Ballard and his assigns for the remainder of the said term. Also I give
and bequeath unto my said son Thomas all that my share of Sturtney
Grange and of my farm in <Barnarte?>
for all the term therein contained upon condition that he shall pay unto my
daughter Alice and after her death unto Thomas,
Harrie and Alice her children the sum of six pounds thirteen shillings
four pence yearly during all the term of the lease in <Barnarte?>. And
also paying unto the said Thomas, Harrie and Alice my grandchildren the
<rent> out of my lease in Sturtney for the whole term of it five pounds
thirteen shillings four pence. The first payment to be begin at the feast of St
Michael the Archangel one thousand six hundred and one. Also I give unto Thomas
my son the lease of the tenement in which Nicholas
Barkhouse now dwelleth> in the Strand. And I do make and ordain my
said son Thomas the sole and only executor of this my last will. And so god
bless him Amen. The sixth of April one thousand six hundred and fourteen. By me
