In the name of God Amen I
Thomas Ballard citizen and tallowchandler of London being in perfect memory
praised be God do make this my last
will and testament in manner and form following imprimis I bequeath my soul
to God in be name of Jesus Christ my saviour for the estate that God hath
given me in this world first my mind and will is that all my debts be paid and
my funeral charges being paid (that being done) for the rest I dispose as is
hereafter expressed. I do give unto my son John Ballard all of the Money he
oweth me at the present upon condition that the shall make a general release to
my executor hereafter named of all matters whatsoever between him and myself.
And for the rest my debts and funerally being paid I give to my beloved wife
Joane whom I make full executor of my last will and testament. Signed and
delivered in the presence of us Marmaduke Browne, James Eglinton his master,
William Silling<?>.
Memorandum that the house in
Essex which I am possessed of now at this <?????> I give to my wife Joane
during her natural life and after her decease to my son John Ballard and his
heirs for ever in this <?????>
