In the name of God Amen. I Roger Ballard being weak in body but in perfect memory do bequeath my soul to God that created me and my body to the Earth to be decently buryed and I do make my beloved wife Magdalen Ballard my sole executrix. Item I give unto my said wife four hundred of red Earth and <two> booles of Callicoes <one> boot of napkins six <pieces> of Birds eye with half a hundred of Cotton <????> I bring now in the good ship called the Eagle with all wordly parts and parcel that is mine I bequeath wholly and solely to my said wife with all the money that is due to me from the East India Company And this I make as my will to said firm And all other wills or gifts that was made or promised before this to be made void and this I sign with my hand and seal this twentyfifth day of July in the year One thousand six hundred fifty and five. The mark of Roger Ballard, sealed and witnessed in the presence of us Robert Chandler Randle Taylor.
