I Robert Ballard of the parish of St Lawrence in the town of Southampton wine merchant do declare in my own hand writing this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking any other wills by me at any time made after requesting to be buried in the most private and least expensive manner in my vault in the chancel of the parish church aforesaid and directing my just debts and funeral expenses to be discharged in due and convenient time I give and bequeath all of my <????> leasehold copyhold and personal property of every sort and description without the <Ihimitest?> limitation whatsoever to my only and beloved child and daughter Millicent Ballard to her and her heirs for ever I do likewise appoint my said daughter Millicent Ballard my whole and sole executrix. In witness whereof I the said Robert Ballard the testator have to this my last will and testament written and contained in the single sheet of <Gilt> paper set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord 1794 – Robert Ballard – signed sealed published and declared by the said Robert Ballard the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have set and subscribed our names as witnesses hereto – G. G. Hookey – J.T.Hookey – Mary – Mary Hookey.

 

This will was proved at London on the 24th day of January in the year of our Lord 1795 before the right Honourable Sir William Wynn knight Doctor of laws Master keeper or Commissary of the prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oath of Millicent Ballard spinster the daughter of the said deceased and sole executrix named in the will of the deceased to whom administration was granted of all and singular the goods chattels and credit of the deceased she having been first sworn by commission duly to administer.

 

On the 27th of January 1822 administration with this will annexed of the goods chattels credits of Robert Ballard late of the town and county of Southampton Esquire deceased left unadministered by Millicent Morris formerly Ballard wife of Charles Morris the <????> sole executor and universal legatee named in the said will was granted to the said Charles Morris her husband and executor of the goods of the said Millicent Morris having been first sworn duly to administer.
