Have I Peter Ballard-being at present by the goodness of almighty God in perfect soundness of mind though afflicted in body and uncertain how soon mine affliction may terminate in death and being possessed of certain property am desirous and do will by this testament that it be disposed of after my decease as hereinafter mentioned I leave to Mrs. Maria Dell of number 73 Pratt Street Camden Town in the county of Middlesex or of 44 Mornington Place Hampstead Road in the same county the sum of £10.00 as a small acknowledgement for her kindness to me in a former illness I give also the sum of £5.00 to Mrs. Hannah Barrett of Woolmore Street the sum of £5.00 and my family Bible and also my watch in trust for the benefit of her son George the rest of my property I bequeath to my Brother Henry after the payment of all necessary expenses -Peter Ballard- witness James Heywood - William Woods
Appeared to personally James Heywood of Woolmore Street
Poplar in the county of Middlesex schoolmaster and made oath that he is one of
the subscribed witnesses to the last will and testament of Peter Ballard late of
Woolmore Street Poplar in the county of Middlesex Stonemason deceased who died
on or about the 26th day of January last the said will being now hereunto
annexed and bearing date the 25th day of that said month of January last and he
made an oath that on the day of the said date namely the 25th day of January in
the present year one thousand eight hundred and forty one the said testator duly
executed his said will by signing his name and the foot or end thereof as the
same now appears in the presence of him by the deponent and of William Woods the
other subscribed witness thereto both of whom to wit this deponent and the said
other witness were then present at the same time and he the said deponent and
the said William Woods thereupon attested and subscribed to the said will in the
presence of the said testator - James Heywood - on the 17th day of February 1841
the said James Heywood was duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit before me,
John Danberry Surr. - Pst J R Burchett N.P
On the 19th of February, 1841 administration with the
will annexed of the goods chattels and credits of Peter Ballard late of Woolmore
Street Poplar in the county of Middlesex stonemason deceased was granted to
Henry Ballard the brother and residuary legatee named in the said will having
been first sworn duly to administer - no executor -
