IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. I
John Ballard of Hedcorne in the County of Kent Yeoman being weak of body but of
sound and perfect mind and memory praise be given to Almighty God for the same,
do make and ordain this my present last Will and Testament in manner and form
following (that is to say) first and principally I commend my soul into the
hands of God who gave it to me, hoping through the Merits, Death and Passion of
my saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my
sins and to inherit Everlasting Life, and my Body I commit to the Earth to be
decently buried in Christian Burial at the discretion of my Executors hereafter
named. And as touching the disposition of all such temporal Estate as it hath
pleased Almighty God to bestow upon me I give bequeath and dispose the same in
manner and form as followeth. Imprimis. I will that my debts and Funeral
Charges shall be paid and discharged. Item I give unto my son Peter Burron one
shilling of Lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid to the said Peter Burron
within one month next after my decease by my executors hereafter named. Item I
give unto my daughter Elizabeth Burron one shilling of lawfull money of Great
Britain to be paid to the said Elizabeth Burron within one month next after my
decease by my executors hereafter named. All the rest and residue of my personal
Estate Goods and Chattels whatsoever and wheresoever to be found I give and
bequeath unto my loving wife Grissoll Ballard and to my loving son in law John
Forster which said Grissoll Ballard and John Forster I nominate constitute and
appoint my full and sole Executors joyntly, of this my present last Will and
Testament. And I do hereby revoke disannul and make void all former Wills and
Testaments by me at any time made, ratifying and confirming this and none other
to be my last Will and Testament. IN WITNESS whereof I the said John Ballard
have hereunto set my hand and seal this twelfth day of July in the Eight year of
the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of god of Great Britain
France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith, Anno Dom 1722.
