In the name of God Amen. I John Ballard of Buttermere in the County of Wilts being sicke in body but of prefect remembrance doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme followinge Imprimis I bequeath my soule to Almightie God and my body to be buried in the Churchyard of Buttermeere Item I give unto our mother church the church of Sarum six pence Item I give unto our church of Buttermeere six pence Item I give unto my daughter Margaret Pryan tenne shillings to be paid within three yeares after my decease Item I give unto my daughter Ann Heather fortie pounds to be paid within five yeares after my decease Item I give unto Ellinor Heather my Grandchild tenn shillings to be paid within one yeare after my decease Item I give to my three Grandchildren Margaret Jane and Mary Ballard daughters of John Ballard my sonne ffive shillings apeece Item I give unto my sonne John Ballard all my goods and chattels whatsoever els not above mentioned  both moveable and imoveable and him I make and ordain my whole and sole Executor of this my last will and Testament Item I Make William White and John Piper my Overseers of this my last will and Testament and hereunto I have sett my hand and seale John Ballard his hand and seale in the presence of William Hunt William White John Piper.

 

This will was proved at London before the Right Worshipful Sir Nathaniell Burnt knight Doctor of Lawes and Master or Keeper of the Prerogative Court lawfully constituted the two and twentieth Day of July in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand Six Hundred fiftie two by the oath of John Ballard the sole executor named in the said will. To whom Administration was committed of all and singular the goods chattels and debts of the said deceased he being first duly sworn (by Commission) well and truly to Administer the same.
