In the name of god amen to I Edward Ballard of Weston Subedge in the county of Gloucester being sick in body but of good and perfect memory do commit my sole unto the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in hope and sure persuasion of his mercy and my body to be buried in the chancel of Weston Subedge by my father <?????> for it 13 shillings <?????> Jesus in hope of a glorious resurrection to dispose of my goods as followeth <?????> this my will I make my loving wife Martha Ballard and my loving and eldest son John Ballard executors and the two together my land here at Weston equally between them <?????> the <?????> <?????> <?????> of these meaning <?????> hereunder expressed to my son William Ballard I give my house in Evesham usually called the White <Haetr> with close and the appurtenances to my son Robert the house and close of mine in Weston which now Mr. Edwards lives in which I bequeath unto him for ever and a <????> of <?????> <?????> <?????> <?????> tested to his hands at the charge of the executors he finding of the seed which he shall <?????> during the term of his life and 10 sheep pastures and likewise 15 pounds due unto me from my son Edmund to my son Thomas Ballard I bequeath all my sheep and £50.00 of English money due unto me issuing out of a bond made to Thomas Cottrell of Sambury wherein a Mr. <?Cheary> late of Bishampton and Mr. Edward Savage of <?????> are bound in 200 for the payment of 100 and the use and likewise £50.00 due unto me by two bonds wherein Henry Collier the Elder and Henry Collier the Younger <?????> to the said Henry dwelling in Hollowfield in the parish of Hanbury in the county of Worcester are jointly bound in three score pounds each for the payment of <?????> £10.00 whereof already paid and endorsed on the backside of one of the bonds and the legacies both <?????> <?????> and married <??> so bestowed upon them the goods and houses presently the <????> and <????> and <?????> and can be gotten and <????> from my debts and to my daughter Angela Ballard I do give 100 pounds due unto me from my Lady Underhill of Eatington widow to Sir Edward Underhill knight in the county of Warwick out of a bond of 200 for the payment of <?????> and to my daughter Rebecca Ballard I give four score and £10.00 due for Thomas Ashman of <?????> by two bonds wherein the said Thomas Ashman’s father and Edmund Ashman the son of <?????> aforesaid are bound for the payment of £61.00 10 shillings whereof 15 remains due and in the <?????> bond Thomas Ashman the father is bound for the payment of £40.00 both of which sums amount to the sum above written and likewise £10.00 due unto me from Richard Canning of Aston Underedge expressed in a bill of £20.00 and to my daughter Elizabeth Ballard I give 100 pounds due unto me out of a mortgage of Thomas Ashman of Cowhoneybourne deceased for 250 pounds the residue to be disposed of by the executors to these of my children which shall have most need this will was published and declared by the testator aforesaid upon the 15th day of April 1646 in the presence of Peter Maydwall Henry Collier Edmund Ballard

 

Probated in London and 13th June, 1646 probate granted to two Martha Ballarde relict and John Ballarde son of the deceased named in the will.
