In the Name of God Amen, I Edward Ballard of Hooper Square Goodmans Fields in the County of Middlesex publican being of sound mind and body do declare this my last will and testament first I desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be fully paid & satisfied & whatever household stock furniture and every thing I am possessed of I give & bequeath unto my dear wife Harriet for her sole use and benefit /--/ witness E Ballard /--/  John Ballard /--/ James Randall

 

Appeared personally John Ballard of Upper Clapton in the county of Middlesex Carrier and made oath as follows that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last will and testament hereunto annexed of Edward Ballard late of Hooper Square Goodmans Fields in the county of Middlesex deceased beginning thus “In the Name of God Amen I Edward Ballard of Hooper Square Goodmans Fields in the county of Middlesex publican ending thus “and every thing I am possessed of I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Harriet for her sole use and benefit” and thus subscribed under the word witness “E Ballard” and that on the twentieth day of December last this deponent who is the brother of the said deceased was requested by him to witness his said will which had just been written by Mr John Mr Eldiss a friend of deceased’s and that after the said deceased had read over and approved of the same he signed his initial and name “E Ballard” under the word “witness” on the second side of the said will as now appears whereupon he this deponent and James Randall the other witness thereto severally signed their names underneath the same as now appears /--/ John /--/ On the 2nd April 1832 the said John Ballard was duly sworn to the truth of this affidavit before me C Cook Jnr /--/ <???> Robt E Pownall Not Pub

 

On the 11th April 1832 admon with the will annexed of the Goods Chattels and credits of Edward Ballard late of Hooper Square Goodman’s Fields in the county of Middlesex dec’d was granted to Harriett Sophia, in the will written Harriet, Ballard widow the relict the universal legatee named in the said will having been first sworn duly to administer.
