In the Name of God Amen. I Charles Ballard Tailor of
Middlesex Street in the parish of Saint George Hanover Square Westminster in the
county of Middlesex being in a good state of health a sound mind & perfect
understanding do make this my last will & Testament in manner & form
following ffirst I give to my dearly beloved wife Sarah Ballard & to her
Brother John Osmon Esqr of Wooburn in the county of Bucks all my ffreehold
copyhold and leasehold estate all my ffunded property all my Bonds notes &
book debts Good Chattels or any other whatever for the purpose herein mentioned
that is to say after paying all my just debts & funeral expenses I give
& bequeath to my Brother George Ballard of Eastbourne Sussex one Guinea to
is three sons John George & <Thomas> Ballard one hundred pounds each
to his three daughters Elizabeth Sarah & Cartherine twenty pounds each to
Charles Easliby son of John Easliby <& ???> of Eastbourn in the county
of Sussex one hundred pounds to Mrs Tonkins wife of Ffeilder Tonkins ten pounds
to her daughter Mary my God daughter one hundred pounds that to be paid after
the death of my dearly beloved wife to my ffriends Mr George King of Lorwood ten
pounds & my watch & silver buttons to Mr George Robson of St James ten
pounds to Mr J Chapman of Eastbourn five pounds to my good friends John Richards
Esqr Richard Evershed of Pulborow & Mr John Woodcock of Islington to each of
the above four friends a gold ring each and to the rest & remainder of my
proerty be whatever it may I give it all to the above said Sarah Ballard my
dearly beloved wife for her life for her whole & sole use for <ever>
and am sorry its no more and I do hereby appoint & make the above said Sarah
Ballard & her brother John Osmon Esqr joint Executors of this my last will
& Testament as I forgive all the World hoping God will forgive me & take
my spirit to his holy ho<??>prity This twenty seven day of June in the
year one thousand eight hundred & nine. Chas Ballard (LS) signed &
sealed by me in the presence of Dorothy Osmer -- Margaret Aingell -- Saml
Sutton.
Proved at London 18th December 1812 before the worshipful Samuel <P??> Parsons Doctor of Laws & Surrogate by the oath of Sarah Ballard widow the Relict & surviving Executrix to whom admon was granted she having been first sworn duly to administer.
