In the name of God Amen May the thirtieth in the year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and sixtie one I Anne Ballard of Lamberhurst in the countie of Sussex widow being aged and weake in body but of perfect minde and memory doe make this my last will and testament in form following My soul I commend unto Almighty God that gave it being assured of the full forgiveness of my sinns by the blood of his only sonne my Saviour Jesus Christ who hath ransomed me and prepared a place in heaven for me ffor my body that it be decently buried neere my husband in the parish church of Lamberhurst I give to the poore people of the said parish ffive pounds to be distributed among them within ffive weeks after my decease I give to the children of my cozen William Denton ffifty pounds apeice to either of them to be paid at the age of one and twenty years and in case either of the said children die before they attain the age of one and twenty years that then her or his said legacy of ffiftie pounds hereby given be equally divided by my executor hereafter named amongst the survivors I give to Elizabeth <T???ge> sister of my cozen Denton twenty shillings yearly during her life to bee paid on Lady Day I give to Robert Brocklesby my husbands god sonne twenty pounds to be paid twelve months after my decease I give such servants as shall be living in house with me at the time of my death forty shillings a piece to either of them to be payd within two months next after my death All the rest of my estate, goods , chattels we reall or personal moveable or immovable money plate and household stuffs whatsoever I give and bequeath to my beloved kinsman and ffriend Robert Naper of Puncknoll in the county of Dorsett Esq.  who I further make and ordain the sole executor of this my last will and testament And doe hereby revoke all former and other wills and testaments by me at any time heretofore made declaring this to be my last --- --- thy will be done with thy servant In witness hereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale tis day and yeare first above written Ann Ballard Signed sealed and published as the last will and testament in the presence of us Elizabeth Austyns marke Elizabeth Ellis marke.
