The last will nuncupative of Anne Ballard late of the Parish of Trinity in London, Spinster deceased according as she expressed the same several times as also in the time of her sickness on Sunday last being the sixth of this instant January as followeth one thousand six hundred fifty five. Imprimis she gave to her cousins John, William and Thomas Ballard her brother Robert Ballard's children five pounds apiece the monies for the younger (videlicet William and Thomas) to be paid to them when they shall accomplish their respective age of one and twenty years. And also she willed that her executor hereafter named should forthwith buy her said cousin Thomas Ballard a new suite of clothes with her money she left and also that her executor do pay to her <senior?> cousin Master William towards having him taught to write seventeen shillings and sixpence also she gave to her cousin John Ballard the son of her brother John Ballard of London five pounds the same to be paid out by her executor towards putting him forth apprentice. Also she gave to her cousin Thomas Venables her sister's son five pounds if he comes to demand the same and in case he be dead or shall die before he hath received the same then the same to go to and be paid to and amongst the four children of her sister <Eves ?> hereafter mentioned equally and proportionally part and share alike also she gave to Rebecca Abbott daughter of her sister <Eves ?> in money twenty pounds to be paid out for her use by her executor and that her husband was not to intermeddle therewith but that the same should be solely disposed of by her executor for the good of her said cousin Rebecca Abbott. Item she also gave to her cousin <Eves ?> one of her said sister <Eves ?> son five pounds which said legacy she willed that the same should be paid by her executor into the hands of his two brothers Edward and William Eves and that they therewith should buy the said John Eves a <Wherey> Board and deliver the same unto him in lieu of the said five pounds. Item she also gave to her cousins William and Edward Eves five pounds apiece. Item she also gave to Rachel Skinner ten pounds in gold and her best night waistcoat and a sheet of her best linen. Item she also gave to the poor of the Parish of Saint Gregory by Paul's London five pounds the same to be distributed to and amongst the poor at once according to the discretion of Master Henry Wilsonne Woolen Draper and Parishioner of the foresaid Parish. Item to Widow Barrison of Trinity Parish in money ten shillings and to Mistress Robinson in Little Trinity Lane two shillings and she gave to her cousin Elizabeth Rydings twenty shillings in money and her best scarf and a sheet of her best linen. Item she gave to Edward Eves wife abovesaid her Bible a silver spoon and a suite of her best linen and to John Eves wife aforesaid a suite of her best linen. And all the rest of her wearing apparel as well linen as woollen she willed and gave the same to Rebecca Abbott aforesaid. Item she gave to Mistress Grace Pondarbey five pounds in money. Item she gave to Robert Baxter twenty shillings. Item she gave to Richard Edwards her executor hereafter named for his pains to be taken as his being made executor five pounds. Item she willed the legacies abovesaid being paid and her funeral expenses discharged the rest of her estate she willed should go and be given to her brother John Ballard Coach Maker. Item she made and willed that the said Richard Edwards do be her executor to see and dispose of all things according to this her will and meaning.

 

The will nuncupative was probated LONDON the twenty sixth day of January in the year of our Lord God according to the <Accom??at??s> Computation of the Church of England one thousand six hundred fifty and five before …… to Richard Edwards.
